Please put up with a few paragraphs so you can understand my frustration.... A few months ago, I had noticed my Z was starting to puff a bit of smoke at high rpm's and I thought it was simply that it was running rich. I took it to a shop in KC to have it thoroughly checked and everything came out fine. During a routine oil change, I noticed my turbos were a little moist and so I started shopping for bigger ones. I took it to a shop in Topeka to have the car fully checked before I did the install. Everything checked out fine but they said the compression showed low numbers on # 6. They "said" the numbers were something like 153 - 154 -154-152-155-124...argghh!! They said they could give me a hell of a deal if I did the rebuild through them....I had to think it over. I was a little disheartened but excited about the possibilities....The car, however felt very strong and never missed a beat. I even ran it on the 1/4 and still managed to meet my fastest time of 12.4 at 115mph+....I could not understand it (2lbs less of boost too). Anyway, I have had the car like this for months and I changed the oil again before going to SCCA Nationals. I also decided to check the compression again to make sure my car did not die in the middle of the autox course (lol). Guess, what...the compression numbers read 154 - 152 - 155 - 150 - 152 - 141....WTF???? Someone explain this shit????? So I ran the Nats and the car felt stronger than ever. I went to the shop that "supposedly" did the first comp.test and the mechanic that did it was no longer there. I finally tracked him down and he claimed he NEVER did a comrpession test...who should I kill? The mechanic or the manager that gave me the news??? Could a "thicker" oil have THAT much difference on compression? What does this mean?? I had decided to sell my car after Nationals because the heavy gal was really not competitive on SM2...but now I am just puzzled about the whole thing..........FUCKING AAAHH!! Pissed off Z06-KILLER....killed by Z06-s at Nats.
